Axe-wielding suspect arrested after store incident Columbus, OH — A theft at a local business escalated into a robbery involving a weapon when a suspect allegedly pulled an axe on an employee before fleeing the scene. The incident occurred April 28 in the 2200 block of East Dublin Granville Road. Police said the suspect walked behind the store counter where the registers are located and was told to leave. According to investigators, the suspect took a drink and then produced an axe, advancing toward the employee while demanding the cup. He then filled the cup at a fountain machine and fled. Officers later located and apprehended the suspect, identified as Kylian Mandela. An axe was recovered at the time of arrest. Detectives reviewed store surveillance footage, which police said matched the victim’s account. Mandela was taken into custody and charged with aggravated robbery. Key Points
