On April 8th, 2026, deputies responded to multiple calls of streets being blocked in residential areas by large crowds and vehicles participating in illegal street racing and parties. When law enforcement arrived, many suspects fled—putting lives at risk and showing complete disregard for public safety. An immediate investigation was launched under Florida State Statute 316.191. By April 9th, with the coordinated efforts of our Criminal Investigations Division, Special Investigations, and BAYROC, multiple suspects and vehicles were identified. Deputies worked throughout the day tracking down those involved, resulting in five arrests and five vehicles impounded. Under Florida law, vehicles used in street takeovers can be seized for up to 30 business days—and that’s exactly what’s happening. This investigation is still ongoing. More suspects have been identified, and we are actively working to locate and arrest everyone involved. Let this serve as your warning: if you participate in street takeovers in Bay County, you will be arrested and your vehicle will be taken. 🚨 Play stupid games, win serious consequences. 🚨 BAY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE Sheriff Tommy Ford BAY COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE 3421 N Highway 77Panama City, FL 32405(850) 747-4700 JAIL FACILITY 5700 Star LanePanama City, FL 32404(850) 785-5245(850) 215-5140 BCSO information Quick Resources Copyright © 2026 Bay County Sheriff's Office I All Rights Reserved I Designed by Aaron Rich Marketing Search Site Follow Us!
