Bensalem, PA — A visible police presence greeted students at Bensalem High School Tuesday morning after threats made during a student fight a day earlier raised safety concerns across the campus. The Bensalem Police Department confirmed the threats, reported Monday, were investigated overnight and determined not to be credible, but officers remained on-site out of caution. The added security on April 28 came as students and staff returned to school following the altercation, with families closely watching how officials responded to the potential risk. Increased security follows student altercation According to the Bensalem Police Department, the situation began Monday, April 27, when threats surfaced during a fight between students. Authorities did not specify the nature of the threats but said the incident prompted an immediate investigation. By Tuesday morning, officers had concluded the threats did not pose a real danger. Even so, patrol units were stationed at the high school to ensure a safe environment as the school day began. The department said the decision to increase police presence was made “out of an abundance of caution,” a move often used in school settings when credibility is uncertain but community concern is high.
