April 7, 2026 - In Community News‚ Parks & Recreation By Mary Helen Norris Comment off Fort Mellon Park Splash Pad Temporarily Closed UPDATE 4/9The Fort Mellon Splash Pad has been reopened. ORIGINAL STORY: Due to the current wind advisory and inclement weather conditions, the splash pad at Fort Mellon Park located at 600 E 1st Street is temporarily closed effective immediately.This closure is being made out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of all guests.We will continue to monitor weather conditions and will reopen the splash pad as soon as it is safe to do so.Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.City of Sanford Parks & Recreation Previous Commissioner Claudia Thomas Honored with Home Rule Award 2026
