Overtime shift pays off with $100,000 scratch-off win for Baltimore worker Baltimore, MD — A stop for a sandwich after an overtime shift turned into a $100,000 lottery win for a Baltimore man who had just recently returned to work after a difficult year. The winner, identified only as A.R., purchased several scratch-off tickets on April 19 at a Wawa located at 7501 Pulaski Highway in Rosedale after finishing extra hours at his job as a street sweeper. Later that evening, he began scratching the tickets at home and initially believed none were winners. A.R. claimed the prize April 24 at Maryland Lottery headquarters. He said the past year included unemployment and the loss of his vehicle, and he recently started a new job while supporting his two teenage daughters. The winner said he plans to use the money to pay bills and purchase a new car. He has not widely shared news of the win. The ticket was part of the 50X The Cash scratch-off game, a $10 ticket launched earlier
