Man arrested after string of burglaries and robbery across Northwest DC Washington, DC — A series of break-ins, property damage incidents, and a daytime robbery across Northwest D.C. has led to the arrest of a suspect accused of targeting multiple neighborhoods over a two-week span. The incidents began April 14 when a suspect unlawfully entered a residence on 17th Street Northwest. No items were reported stolen. Police said the activity escalated on April 21, when the suspect allegedly used a crowbar to damage a door and doorbell camera on Georgia Avenue before attempting to break in. Later that morning, another home on Sherman Avenue was entered, and property was taken after residents were awakened. Authorities said the pattern continued into April 28 with another burglary on Hobart Street, followed by a robbery on 16th Street Northwest. During that incident, the suspect approached a victim, demanded property, and exposed himself before fleeing. Bystanders attempted to intervene. Minutes later, the suspect allegedly attempted another unlawful entry on 17th Street, damaging property before fleeing again. Following an investigation, detectives identified and arrested 28-year-old Victor Hernandez, who has no fixed address, on April 28. He faces multiple charges, including burglary, robbery involving force and
