MADISON COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

Subject: Fatality Crash Date: 12/13/2025 Location: Intersection of Highway 81 and Highway 32 On December 13th, 2025 at approximately 8:00 AM, a fatality accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 81 and 32 on the edge of Madison in Madison County. A witness at the scene stated a White 2020 International Straight truck was traveling westbound on Highway 32 approaching Highway 81. It failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection and struck a Silver 2017 Jeep SUV which was traveling southbound on Highway 81. The Jeep then traveled into the ditch on the southwest side of the intersection and came to a rest. The straight truck spun around facing eastbound on Highway 32 before coming to a rest on its side in the southwest ditch. The driver of the Jeep, 49-year-old Robin Cobaugh of Ogallala NE was transported by Madison Rescue to Faith Regional in Norfolk with life saving measures in process. She later died from her injuries at the hospital. Cobaugh’s next of kin has been notified. The driver of the straight truck, 54-year-old Jose Figueredo, was arrested for Reckless Driving and Motor Vehicle Homicide. He is currently housed in the Madison County Jail. Seatbelts were in use by both drivers. Agencies involved were The Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Madison Volunteer Fire and Rescue, and The Nebraska State Patrol.
