On March 3, 2026, Immokalee Technical College (iTECH) celebrated a historic milestone as its Professional Nursing (LPN to RN) students were formally pinned during a special ceremony honoring their achievement. iTECH is proud to be the second technical college in the State of Florida to launch a Professional Nursing (LPN to RN) bridge program. This inaugural cohort includes 12 dedicated students who have successfully completed the rigorous transition from Licensed Practical Nurse to Registered Nurse. Through the generous support of FutureMakers Coalition, this program was offered to students at no cost. With an investment of approximately $7,000 per student, the funding covered full tuition, program fees, laboratory expenses, and the NCLEX examination. This support removed financial barriers and created a direct pathway for local nurses to advance their credentials and meet critical workforce needs in the region. Naples Comprehensive Health (NCH) served as the full clinical partner for the cohort, providing students with hands-on training and real-world clinical experience essential to their professional development. The pinning ceremony brought together students, families, faculty, healthcare partners, and community members to recognize the graduates’ commitment, perseverance, and dedication to advancing patient care in Southwest Florida. This milestone represents not only the success of 12 nursing professionals, but also the strength of community partnership in expanding access to high-quality healthcare education and addressing regional workforce demands.
