Fentanyl bust in Boston leads to arrest after month-long drug probe Boston, MA — A month-long investigation into drug activity across several Boston neighborhoods ended with the arrest of a Roslindale man accused of trafficking fentanyl and other narcotics. Authorities said 46-year-old Clevan Richards was taken into custody on April 23 following coordinated efforts by the South Boston Drug Control Unit, along with additional police units and a DEA task force. Investigators alleged Richards was distributing fentanyl, crack cocaine, and cocaine in areas including Nubian Square, Grove Hall, and Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard. Police conducted surveillance and stopped Richards after he left his residence on American Legion Highway. A search of his person led to the recovery of approximately 19 grams of fentanyl, 9 grams of crack cocaine, and 6 grams of cocaine, along with an undisclosed amount of cash. Authorities also executed a search warrant at his residence, where they reported finding materials consistent with drug packaging and distribution. Richards was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court on multiple charges, including fentanyl trafficking and possession with intent to distribute controlled substances. Officials also cited a habitual criminal penalty enhancement. Key Points
